Chris Rock asked a court to determine if he’s the father of a 13-year-old boy, according to papers filed in a paternity dispute with a Georgia woman.If he’s proven to be the father, Rock wants to “contribute to the support, maintenance, and education” of the boy, say the papers filed Monday in Statesboro, Ga.Bowyer’s lawyer, Brett Kimmel, says Bowyer is “looking forward to establishing that Mr. Rock is the father of their son and bringing the case to a swift conclusion,” according to the AP.

The attorney declined to describe the nature of his client’s relationship with Rock or say why she waited 13 years to seek a paternity claim.

Chris Rock was asked by Life Magazine if the country is ready for an African American president:

It’s ready for a retarded president, why wouldn’t it be ready for an African American president?

…I like Al Gore, actually. (A) He’s more qualified than everyone that’s running on the Democratic side. (B) If he won or didn’t win, he has an agenda to help people and make this a better world. . . . Maybe Barack will win, but I probably won’t see a black president. There’s real equality when you don’t notice [race], you don’t even talk about it. I probably won’t live to see that.

Chris Rock allows art to imitate life with his new movie I Think I Love My Wife which also stars a bangin Kerry Washington. Not surprising Chris Rock wrote the screenplay.

Easy decision here, you have to leave the wife and family or at least cheat.

Chris Rock and his wife Malaak were seen together last night (pic above) at the Living Legend’s Foundation dinner and our friends at TMZ have confirmed the couple will be heading to Vegas together this weekend. It is probably a lot cheaper to keep Malaak. Although TMZ has reported that Chris was starting divorce proceedings, it looks like Chris is taking a hard look at that option before pulling the trigger and dumping Malaak.

Sources say that a chapter that was removed from Karrine Steffans’ bestselling tell-all tome, ‘Confessions of a Video Vixen,’ may finally surface now that a certain Hollywood celebrity has split from his wife. Could said entertainer end up in Steffans’ next book, ‘The Vixen Diaries,’ which is set to bow June 2007 on Warner Books? That’s the word in the publishing world.

TMZ has learned Chris Rock has begun divorce proceedings against his wife of nearly 10 years, Malaak Compton-Rock. TMZ is told the comedian has hired a high-powered divorce attorney to represent him.

The couple, married in November of 1996, has two daughters — 4 year-old Lola and 2 year-old Zahra. Malaak is the founder and executive director of StyleWorks, a non-profit, full-service salon that provides free services for women leaving welfare and entering the workforce.

When contacted, Rock’s rep would only say “I cannot comment at this time.”

Not a big shocker here. Now Malaak held up with the young assistants for a while. Chris looked and if you watched his shows sounded like he wanted out of this marriage from the jump.
