Sean Levert was found dead in his jail cell over the weekend:

“Sean Levert, son of O’Jays lead singer Eddie Levert, was found dead in a Cleveland, Ohio, jail over the weekend. Sean Levert, 39, was being held for allegedly failing to pay about $80,000 in child support. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Sean Levert was a member of the R&B group LeVert with his late brother Gerald Levert and Marc Gordon. Gerald Levert died Nov. 10, 2006 at the age of 40.”

We can’t even begin to imagine what his family must be going through right now. Gerald Levert passed away just 2 years ago. We send our thoughts and prayer to them.

After Beyonce’s track “Beautiful Nightmare” was leaked last week she made this statement:

“Beautiful Nightmare,” a demo I’ve been working on for possible inclusion on my next album, leaked on some websites. I want to thank all my fans for the positive response to the song, but I want to tell you that this is just a work in progress. It is not my time to put out new music. If you really want to hear some really great music now, you have to support my girls Kelly, Michelle and my sister Solange. Kelly just re-released her album digitally in the US, so check out “Ms. Kelly: Diva Deluxe.” Michelle is about to put out the first single, “We Break The Dawn,” from her album and Solange’s single, “I Decided,” is already one of my favorites.

Yeah right Bey. Anyway, here are some new promo pics of Michelle Williams for your morning pleasure, as well as a listen to her newest track that was released by Matthew Knowles. When are these broads gonna learn that they will never blow up with those Knowles characters behind their music. Kelly Rowland is a prime example. Poor thangs.

Some college students in North Dakota get a bit beside themselves in a campus performance:

North Dakota State University is investigating complaints about a campus skit in which a white student in blackface portrayed Barack Obama receiving a lap dance. People who attended it said a pageant contestant from Saddle and Sirloin dressed as a woman from the Internet video “I Got a Crush on Obama” and performed a strip tease for another student, who was wearing dark makeup and an afro wig.

In the background, two male students dressed as cowboys simulated anal sex while holding an Obama sign that one student ripped at the conclusion of the 30-second performance, the Forum reported. Continue »

Things are getting more serious for Jay-Z and Beyoncé. The couple of nearly six years have been slow to take that next step in their relationship, in part because her parents believe she’s too young (26) to get married. But now that Beyoncé’s acting career is taking off, her folks are more open to the pair getting serious, says a pal of the Knowles clan.

While Beyoncé was on location filming “Cadillac Records,” Jay-Z met up with Knowles sibling Solange in the Florida Room of South Beach’s Delano Hotel, where the pair sipped on Don Julio tequila and chatted about how the hip-hop mogul could move things to the next level.

Who sips tequila? SMH.
