Bobby Brown Says No Other Artists Did His Music Justice, Drag’s Britney Spears’ Version Of “My Prerogative”

Bobby Brown’s lovefest with fellow artists abruptly ended when it came to comparisons and covers of his own work. Sharpe asked who did the best with samples from his catalog of classics. According to Brown, nobody else comes close!

“I don’t think they did justice. I don’t think they really did justice to any of the samples that they have done to my songs,” he claimed.

When it comes to one of the biggest covers of his songs, he seems to hate that version the most. Brown pulled no punches about how much he hated Britney Spears’ cover, despite an assist from Mr. New Jack Swing himself.

“Britney Spears butchered ‘My Prerogative.’ Teddy Riley produced it. But that was a butchering. I couldn’t take it. I cleared it only because it was Britney Spears and I was thinking… Teddy Riley is doing it too, so you know,” he revealed.

This isn’t even the first time he criticized Spears taking on the song, so at least he’s consistent.

Shannon Sharpe called out Brown for giving her a green light in the first place. The singer claimed he expected the pop princess to “wow” him. Or maybe the bag he secured was impressive enough at the time. Either way, her fan base came for Brown with a vengeance.

Several of her diehard supporters, probably children during the height of her fame, claim they were today years old when they learned about Brown’s original “My Prerogative.”

Many Spears fans went “Every Little Step” out of line with the disses, claiming that she made Brown relevant. Make that make sense! That’s a sign of two Americas, not just two different generations.

Some youngsters may be overdue for a history lesson because there’s a reason one of the biggest artists of her generation is covering Brown in the first place. He didn’t jump out of that helicopter, “Thug Lovin'” thrusting just to get treated like this! Look at the material!

Not too much on Bobby Brown! Even Britney would disagree with the way her stans are wilding with the racism and disrespect. One thing is for sure: Bobby Brown has always known how to get people talking.
